Interface: TextFloatingPlacement

Everything wp:anchor adds over wp:inline: where the drawing is placed, what the text does around it, and the behavior flags that decide stacking and overlap.

The carrier the two share — extent, effect extent, distances, locks, the node — stays on TextDrawing; this is only the difference, which is why the two are one span variant.

Positioning is two independent axes, one type each. Their vocabularies genuinely differ — a horizontal position can be relative to a column or a character, a vertical one to a paragraph or a line, and neither set admits the other's — so a shared type would have to be a union that could state a horizontal position relative to a line.

Properties

PropertyDescription
horizontal?
TextFloatingHorizontalPosition
wp:positionH — where the drawing sits across the page.
vertical?
TextFloatingVerticalPosition
wp:positionV — where it sits down the page.
wrap?
TextFloatingWrap
wp:wrapNone / wp:wrapSquare / wp:wrapTight / wp:wrapThrough / wp:wrapTopAndBottom — what the text does around the drawing.
simplePosition?
ShapePoint
wp:simplePos with @simplePos on — a flat page position that replaces both axes above, in points from the page's top-left. None is the ordinary case: the two axes decide. The file states the flag and the point separately and Word always writes the point, almost always as 0,0 with the flag off — a point that means nothing — so the two collapse into one field that is Some exactly when the position is in force.
zOrder?
number
@relativeHeight — the drawing's stacking order against the other floating drawings on the page. Higher is nearer the reader.
behindDocument?
boolean
@behindDoc — the drawing paints under the text rather than over it.
locked?
boolean
@locked — the anchor cannot be moved to another paragraph.
layoutInCell?
boolean
@layoutInCell — inside a table cell, the drawing lays out against the cell rather than the page.
hidden?
boolean
@hidden — the drawing is not displayed. Not wp:docPr/@hidden, which lives on the node's non-visual properties and is a separate flag on a separate element. Both are real; neither implies the other.
allowOverlap?
boolean
@allowOverlap — the drawing may overlap another floating drawing.
